Andrew Gibson has a wealth of experience in supporting business in the Edinburgh and wider Lothian regions. Beyond the application of accounting knowledge in each assignment, more significantly, Andrew brings a commercial awareness through many years working closely with clients to grow their businesses.
Andrew Gibson grew up in Dumfriesshire and trained in Glasgow with the predecessor firm of Grant Thornton, qualifying in 1976. After working in Perth for a number of years, Andrew joined an Edinburgh based partnership before electing to establish his own practice, Gibson & Co. in 1996.
Andrew developed the practice based on the delivery of sound accounting and taxation knowledge at all times. Additionally, the emphasis on client service has been demonstrated by the firm’s continuing commitment to answer all client inquiries as and when they arise. The nature of business and regulation has evolved over time. However Andrew ensures the commitment to service results in the firm’s retention of clients through its year-round accessibility and quality of advice.
The opportunity to merge with McKerrell Brown & Gray arose in 2006 and the two firms’ similar client profiles and the common business principles of each of the senior partners paved the way for a successful merger.
